Christoph's Eagle Project

Davis-Fitch Homestead

My Eagle Service Project is to leave a legacy of information and historical facts about life in the Town of Lewisboro through research and exploration of the Davis-Fitch homestead, which is over 100 years old. In September 2009, I contacted Ms. Maureen Koehl, Lewisboro's Town Historian, who suggested the project. The house is no longer standing, but many artifacts remain in and around the foundation.

After many hours of planning and receiving approvals for my written plan, I started my project. After four days of hard work by over 30 volunteers comitting over 100 hours of their time digging, classifying, and documenting at the site, over 1,000 artifacts were recovered for the community.
